The motto of Dr. Kirby Perrault’s Chiropractic setting is “We take care of you like family”. As you walk into this office, you will see how he and his staff have worked to create an experience for each client that is a caring and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is on a first name basis. Massage chairs line the wall for you to use while you wait. The rooms are open with patient adjustment tables, or you can request a private room for an adjustment. A Horse table for adjustments delights children who eagerly climb on it.  Posters and educational materials line the walls along with whiteboards containing information to improve health.


Dr. Perrault chose the Chiropractic field of medicine after his wife experienced a back injury and had a chiropractor help heal her back. A hockey player from Canada, Kirby attended Michigan Tech for his undergraduate in medicine. He graduated from Northwestern College in Minnesota in Chiropractic Medicine. He has three children, all who have been adjusted from birth. He and his wife chose Okemos to open his practice in 1998. Since then, his practice has been growing. He now has one of the largest pediatric practices in Michigan, as 40% of his patients are children. Mothers and Dads often bring their newborns to his office.


Kirby’s mission for his practice is to maximize the health potential with individuals, especially
children. His wellness model incorporates a blend of self care and his treatment and guidance. He focuses on educating patients to choose natural healing methods, alternatives to drugs. As a patient, one gets a comprehensive exam, private consultations, and highly technological assessments. He uses surface EMG and thermography as well as x-rays to access how the nervous system is functioning. He makes recommendations, provides treatment options, and then monitors a patient’s progress. After working with the patient over time, he then reevaluates the patient’s progress making new recommendations and options as needed.


Kirby sees many patients in the community such as both professional and amateur athletes, from the Lugnuts and Spartans. He also helps local athletes in hockey, wrestling, soccer, swimming, lacross, basketball, football and baseball. A binder of photographs and testimonials rests on a table in the office housing several stories of how his chiropractic services have helped each person, athletes, individuals, and families, toward a better “quality of life”.
