What is a School of Wisdom?

Schools of Wisdom date back to ancient times and were the teachers of sacred knowledge. This modern-day School of Wisdom offers awakening humanity a body of practical knowledge and teachings about the hidden nature of humanity and the world that has been held sacred through all time. The purpose of studying these teachings is so that as such knowledge is understood and contemplated, the spiritual memory of the soul will be awakened.

Who are we?

Semper Ad Lucem (meaning "always toward the light") is an auxiliary school of Sancta Sophia Seminary offering an eclectic approach to contemporary spirituality. We offer an alternative style of higher education in both curriculum and structure, emphasizing both personal mentoring and classroom direction. Our goal is to assist students through the transformational experience, helping each to develop a deeper sense of contact with the divine within. Individuals will have an opportunity to glean a more profound understanding of the nature of humanity, our collective journey and the path of self-realization through this program. Seekers dedicated to finding the inner knower and the joy of the soul will comprehend in new ways the meaning of the divine feminine and Sophia. They will understand the psychology of the soul, the esoteric secrets of the ancient wisdom and sacred scriptures from the world community of religions as well as other liberating philosophies.

Semper Ad Lucem is a chartered study center of Light of Christ Community Church and offers designated courses that earn Sancta Sophia School of Wisdom Certificates which are transferable as course completion for credit at Sancta Sophia Seminary upon formal enrollment.

Transferable courses offered through Semper Ad Lucem include Ancient Wisdom, Meditation I and II, Spiritual Disciplines and Practices, Nutrition and Natural Health, Spiritual Healing, Training of the Initiate, Dream Study, Astrology, Numerology, and Religions East and West.

Our purpose is to assist others in deepening their spirituality and exploring greater personal well being of mind, body and soul. Although based in Jackson and Lansing, we are happy to work where the need for study and inspiration arises, so group classes can be accommodated in your area too!

This program offers opportunities for growth and personal transformation to both the individual seeker and to those who are looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of others!

Accreditation

Sancta Sophia Seminary is accredited through the Accrediting Commission International for Schools, Colleges and Theological Seminaries. ACI is the world’s largest non-governmental accrediting society, operating in eight countries on five continents and has 152 religious institutions. Sancta Sophia Seminary offers ordination in addition to several masters and doctoral degree programs. Light of Christ Community Church is recognized and endorsed by the International Council of Community Churches.

Who will teach the classes?

Rev. Sally Bunce and Rev. Troy Shaw will direct and teach many of the classes.

Other teachers are graduates of Sancta Sophia Seminary or highly qualified in Ageless Wisdom teachings and Esoteric Christianity. Both Sally and Troy were ordained by Light of Christ Community Church. Having retired from Higher Education in 1996, Sally pursued a course of study in the Spiritual Healing Arts and Metaphysics, Ancient Wisdom and Mystical Christianity. Troy has been a student of Esoteric Spiritual Teachings, Spiritual Science and the Healing Arts for many years; she has a Healing Practice in Mason. Both offer Spiritual Direction and Mentoring.

What to do:

Join us for a class or a program of study. It is an opportunity to learn, laugh, play and share with others who also envision a new awareness for humanity and how to bring healing and hope to daily life. A great adventure unfolds as participants meet and participate in a variety of ideas as revealed in the mystery teachings of the ancient wisdom.
